A REPURPOSING DESIGN

The Art of Repurposing refers to the creative process of taking an object or material originally designed for one purpose and transforming it into something entirely new with added function or aesthetic value.

This repurposing design transforms an acoustic guitar into a functional wall shelf, blending art with practicality. By repurposing the classic instrument, the piece maintains its musical heritage while serving a new purpose, providing a stylish and unique display and storage solution.

The guitar's body is seamlessly adapted to hold small items, creating a striking contrast between its familiar form and its innovative new function. It's a creative fusion of design, music, and utility, offering both aesthetic appeal and everyday practicality.

The process of converting the acoustic guitar into a shelf involves carefully altering the instrument’s body to support and hold items, while preserving its structural integrity and aesthetic appeal, resulting in a seamless blend of form and function.

Lights were added along the inner edges of the guitar body to highlight its curves and showcase the items displayed on its shelves. The gentle glow enhances the guitar’s aesthetic while creating a cozy ambiance in the space.
