REVITALIZATION
Transforming a public green space to enhance recreation, connection with nature and foster community engagement.
Transforming an Urban Green Space for Community Enrichment
The design plan for the reformation of the urban park in a small city located in the interior of Brazil, commissioned by the government, aimed to transform the existing space into a vibrant, multifunctional area that served the community. The project focused on revitalizing the landscape to enhance its natural beauty, improve accessibility, and promote a range of recreational activities.
Key design elements included the addition of walking and jogging paths, new seating areas, and designated spaces for outdoor fitness equipment. Shaded spots with pergolas and tree plantings were incorporated to provide comfort and encourage year-round use. The park’s layout also integrated eco-friendly features such as rain gardens and native plants to support local biodiversity and sustainable water management.
Additionally, the reformation plan incorporated spaces for cultural and social events, with areas adaptable for public gatherings. Improved lighting and security measures ensured the park remained a safe environment for all visitors, both day and night. The rejuvenated park acted as an essential green space, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the quality of life for the residents.
